To mark the Platinum Jubilee, thousands of beacons were lit around the UK and the Commonwealth. Lighting tookplace at 9.45pm on Thursday 2nd June.
We were pleased to have been invited to host the town's beacon ceremony and had a great evening of community celebration with almost 300 attending. Entertainment in the form of music and balloons were provided by Rocky's Magic Parties and food from the Roaming Deli enjoyed by those in attendance. For the ceremony itself, Billy Colvin played the bagpipes.
