MNRFC announce the passing of Michael (Nipper) Pratt

It is with great sadness that we announce that Michael (Nipper) Pratt died this morning (5th January 2022), peacefully, after a long illness.

Mr Pratt - or Nipper as he was better known - is a Club Legend, captaining the 1st XV in the 1970s and also being pack leader in 1980 when Norton beat Bridgwater to claim the Somerset Cup for the first time.

Many ex-players started their playing career under the captaincy of Nipper.

Nipper was a popular and well-respected player around the Bath Combination, whom he captained during their Vets tour to Portugal in 1990.

He actively supported MNRFC until illness kept him home, where he was always keen to know how the teams played.

We all send our sympathy to his widow Barbara (Barb), son Stephen and the whole Pratt family.

RIP
