Midsomer Norton 70 - 14 Avonmouth
Norton kept their recent unbeaten run going with a ten-try victory over Avonmouth.
Despite some difficult recent results, the visitors had clearly prepared well for the game and kept Norton on their toes for the first 55 minutes, before a young Norton pulled away with a blitz of fantastic flowing tries.
Mclachlan and Button had opened the scoring during a dominant opening period before Avonmouth got one back - but Jefferey’s first just before half time gave Norton a 21-7 advantage at the break.
Avonmouth got another back early in the second period, running the length of the field after an interception as the game threatened to get unnecessarily close. However Norton were simply fantastic in the last period of the game - Jeffery adding four, Anderson another and winger Humphries capping the performance with two of his own. Fullback Rideout kicked impeccably all afternoon, converting all ten tries.
Meanwhile Seconds got their first victory of the season with a 34-22 victory over Bristol Telephones - tries from Matthews, Tombs, Rose, Kemar and Fear (x2).
Both the Firsts - who now sit third in the table - and Seconds have a well deserved week off this Saturdayalthough the Thirds provide entertainment at Norton Down with their clash against Keynsham (2.30pm ko)
