Midsomer Norton 57 - 12 Chipping Sodbury
Norton Down witnessed the first league Rugby for over 18 months on Saturday. The large crowd enjoyed both the on-field entertainment and the refurbished club house was well received and well used. It was encouraging for the new committee to see a good number of families with young children and the usual die-hard supporters in attendance.
The 1sts welcomed Chipping Sodbury who showed much resilience in the opening minutes however Norton’s powerful pack were soon dominating everything upfront, and the young backs showed flair, speed and plenty of slick handling moves in accumulating over 50 points for the second weekend in a row.
Norton sit top of the league but there are no illusions about the task ahead to remain competitive in this tough league.
