Imperial RFC
Midsomer Norton RFC

Midsomer Norton under 13’s began their junior rugby journey with a trip to Imperial on a sunny Sunday lunch time.

A minutes silence was observed by both sides. Norton started the stronger a sweeping move was finished with Henry crashing over the line. Norton got into their stride and after some good rucking, Jacob was able to crash over from short range. Harry made one of his trade mark mazy runs and went over in the corner. Norton didn’t have all their own way as Imperial went over for a well worked try. Imperial went down a player so Jasper stepped up to play for opposition.

The second half started the same as the first with Thomas showing that all his hard work over the summer was paying off with a strong run going half the length of the pitch to score. The ever impressive Austin was next on the score sheet when he borrowed over. Imperial then took advantage of a gap in the Norton defence to go on a strong run with a brave defensive tackle coming from fullback Josh unfortunately not quite strong enough and imperial scored.

The last score came from the impressive Harry who ripped the ball in the tackle and showed the opposition a clean pair of heals.

Big congratulations go to debutants Theo and Ripper. Theo for his amazing scrummaging and Rippers for looking like a man that’s been playing the game for years.
